Here is a recent photo of a puppy born still intact in his sac.  This is known known as caul birth and happens in roughly 1 in 80,000 human births.

In a litter of puppies, each develops in the amniotic sac with their own placenta, which provides them with oxygenated blood. Once the puppy has been born this blood supply ends and so they’re reliant on being able to breathe on their own to survive.  We quickly broke the sac so that this little puppy could breathe.   Such a magical moment and very educational for others to see.

    Why choose an Emeraldax puppy?

Here at Emeraldax we try and make your whole experience a journey.  From first contact we will ask you to complete our Puppy Application Form, this will tell us everything that we need to know about you.  We will also chat with you quite a bit over the telephone before we decide that you are the right human for one of our babies.  Once we are happy with you and you with us, the journey begins....

Once a litter has been born we will be taking applications for new homes when the puppies are around 2 weeks old.

You will be sent weekly videos and photos until you get to meet him/her at 4 weeks of age.  When you meet your baby for the first ever time you already feel like you know them.

The price of a puppy ranges between £2500 - £3500.  Once your puppy is chosen,  a holding fee is taken to reserve your puppy and the balance is paid when your puppy is 8 weeks old.  Receipts can be sent upon request.

If you are on Facebook we will add you to our 'Puppy Group’ which we add all of our new owners to.  This way you get to know the other puppy owners and share your excitement with each other.  This is a great way to keep in touch with them later on to see how your baby’s siblings are getting on.

We allow new owners to visit their puppy as many times as they wish.  This helps you to bond with your new baby.

And now the big day has come to bring your new baby home!!!

We know how exciting this day is for you and it makes us so happy to know that our babies will be going to the best possible homes.

🐾 WHY WE DON’T OFFER PAYMENT PLANS FOR OUR PUPPIES 🐾

We completely understand that purchasing a puppy is a big financial commitment, and we appreciate that everyone has different circumstances. ❤️

However, at Emeraldax Dachshunds, we do not offer payment plans or allow puppies to be taken home before they have been paid for in full.

Our puppies are raised with an enormous amount of time, love, care and expense from the moment they are born. We want to make sure that when one of our puppies leaves us, their new family is financially prepared not only for the purchase of the puppy, but also for the ongoing costs of responsible ownership.

Owning a puppy comes with many expenses beyond the initial purchase price — food, insurance, vaccinations, veterinary care, parasite prevention, training, equipment and, of course, unexpected veterinary bills should they ever arise.

For us, being financially prepared is an important part of being ready for a puppy. We would never want a family to find themselves struggling financially shortly after bringing one of our babies home.

We also have to consider things from our side as a breeder. We have invested heavily in our dogs, their health testing, veterinary care, nutrition and the raising of each litter. Once a puppy leaves our care, we have ongoing commitments and expenses to meet, so payment must be completed before the puppy goes to their new home.

This policy is not about judging anyone’s financial situation, and we certainly don't expect everyone to have thousands of pounds sitting in their bank account. We simply ask that families plan and save for their puppy before committing to purchase.

If you aren't financially ready just yet, that's absolutely okay. ❤️ There is no rush to own one of our puppies. We'd much rather you wait until the time is right and you can enjoy your new family member without financial pressure.

Our puppies are precious members of our family, and finding them the right homes will always be more important to us than making a sale. 🐾💚

Thank you for understanding and respecting our policy.
